Abhijit Kale, A Village Cricketer Took 39 Runs In A Over

Abhijit Kale took 39 runs in a single over including six sixes in a row in Kent. The over completed in 9 balls because there are 3 no balls in that particular over.

Abhijit scored a single off bowler Damion Grosscel's first ball, which was then matched by batting partner Michael Brown. Then came a two by Abhijit - followed by a Garry Sobers style six consecutive sixes.

Abhijit was playing for Kent League Division 3 team Linden Park against Catford Wanderers. The Tunbridge Wells-based side made 247, with Abhijit 152 not out, then they bowled out Catford for 134.

Jonathan Hughes scored most runs in an over. He took 42 runs for North Leeds in 2005.

West Indies legend Sir Garfield Sobers was the first man who hit 6 sixes in an over in the first class match for Notts in 1968.
